Top 5 richest North Carolina HS basketball players based on NIL

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (BVM) – North Carolina became the 28th state to allow high school athletes to profit off of NIL when the North Carolina High School Athletic Association’s board of directors voted on the measure in early May. The new policy would require high school athletes to go through an NIL class that was developed by the National Federation of State High School Associations before they could begin to profit from name, image and likeness deals.

Starting in July, high school athletes in North Carolina will be able to make money off of their name, image and likeness. It ushers in a new era of NCHSAA athletics and continues to show the country that NIL is changing high school, as well as collegiate, sports.

NIL now plays a role in college recruiting and since high schoolers can begin to make money from NIL before college, the recruiting landscape will continue to change.

North Carolina has been known for producing talented high school athletes and basketball is no exception. Those top-ranked basketball players stand to make a decent amount of money if done properly and some of them have high NIL valuations.

Here are the top five NIL valuations based on On3 data for North Carolina high school basketball players.
