Virginia Beach lacrosse teams set for first VHSL state tournament appearances

A week after their first region tournament appearances, six Virginia Beach lacrosse teams are set to make Virginia High School League state tournament debuts. The Kellam (Class 6), Cox (Class 5) and First Colonial (Class 5) boys teams and Ocean Lakes (Class 6), First Colonial (Class 5) and Bayside (Class 5) girls teams are among the Beach teams playing in their first seasons as a sanctioned varsity sport. The Cox boys and First Colonial girls won region championships and will play close to home in state quarterfinals Friday.
