Top 10 highest-rated New York HS football players of all time
T-No. 5 – Jason Gwaltney
Gwaltney’s 247 Sports profile shows that he had a player rating of 0.9888. The 6-foot, 235-pound running back graduated from North Babylon High School in the Class of 2005. He’s currently ranked No. 488 on 247 Sports’ all-time list.
Gwaltney finished his high school football career at North Babylon as Long Island’s all-time leading rusher (7,800) and scored 135 touchdowns. But, he went on to become a recruiting disaster for West Virginia. He played just six games as a Mountaineer because of injury and academic struggles. He transferred to other schools but was often sidelined for either not showing up to practice or for run-ins with the law.
Gwaltney never made it into the NFL. According to his LinkedIn, he last worked as a general manager at The Edge Fitness Clubs LLC.
