10. Daniel Evans, Broughton (2001-03)
In three years as the quarterback for the Capitals, Evans came ever so close to the 10,000-yard mark as he finished his career with 9,899 passing yards. This total was the third-highest amount in North Carolina High School Athletic Association history at the time, making Evans a household name for many in the state.
Evans made the jump to the college ranks, playing for in-state North Carolina State where his dad was once a legendary quarterback and punter. The quarterback played all four years for the Wolfpack, throwing for 4,004 yards, 19 touchdowns and 29 interceptions.
