A new era has begun for the Buena Colts boys basketball team
SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. — Buena High School has named Dennis Baker as the new head coach for the varsity basketball team. Baker replaces former coach Tyler Molesworth, who stepped down to spend more time with his family.

Baker brings over a decade of coaching experience to Buena. He most recently served as the head coach at Tombstone High School from 2020-2022, helping rebuild their program. Prior to that, he was the junior varsity head coach at Buena for five seasons, assisting the program to win multiple conference titles.

Originally from Dallas, Baker moved to Sierra Vista in 2011 with his wife Stephanie so she could be near her family. He started out as a standout high school basketball player himself earning All-State honors. Baker continued is education endeavors at the University of Oklahoma, where he graduated with a degree in Marketing

On Baker’s coaching philosophy, Athletic Director Cole Colvin said, “Dennis understands Buena’s mission and vision as a basketball program and is committed to instilling character-driven values in our student-athletes.”
Coach Baker, his wife, and their five children are excited to join the Sierra Vista community and support all of Buena High School’s athletic programs. He aims to build upon the foundation of the basketball program and align it with the school district and community’s vision.
