5 most dominant pitcher outings in NCAA Tournament history

STANFORD, Calif. (BVM) – Quinn Mathews had a legendary pitching performance last weekend to keep Stanford alive in its super regional matchup against Texas last weekend. The Cardinal ace tossed a complete game with 16 strikeouts and threw 156 pitches as Stanford won 8-3. It was the first time a pitcher had thrown 16 or more strikeouts in a super regional game since former Vanderbilt pitcher Kumar Rocker threw 19 strikeouts against Duke in 2019.

Mathews’ performance was unbelievable, but how does it compare to other postseason pitching performances? Here are the five most dominant pitching performances in NCAA baseball postseason history.
