Marcus Stroman’s 15-year-old brother lighting up radar gun
STONY BROOK, N.Y. (BVM) – Marcus Stroman has been one of MLB’s most dominant pitchers through the early months of the 2023 season, and while all eyes around the game are on the Chicago Cubs ace, another Stroman might be ready for the spotlight.
Stroman’s 15-year-old brother, Jayden, has surfaced throughout social media over the weekend for his own work on the mound, as The Stony Brook School infielder/pitcher touched 93 MPH in an appearance from his recent season.

Jayden, a sophomore from Medford, is one of the nation’s top players in the Class of 2025 and is already committed to Duke on a full scholarship. According to Perfect Game, Jayden is the No. 3 player in his class and the No. 1 player from New York. This past season, he helped the Stony Brook Bears to a 17-7-1 spring campaign.

Following in the footsteps of his older brother who also played shortstop in high school, Jayden is set to take a similar path with his commitment to the Blue Devils program. With the majority of his time coming in the field, the 6-foot shortstop is a switch hitter who has also featured as the team’s closer.
“Just being able to get it done by yourself,” Jayden said of Marcus’ advice to him. “He’s a big, just, get-in-the-gym-everyday guy. He preaches like, even if you don’t want to, you have to go in that morning and he’s always telling me to do stuff even if it’s just watching TV, rolling out, doing soft tissue stuff like that. Just doing everything to get better every day.”
@billythebatboy gotta put in the work💪 a lot learned from @Marcus Stroman 🔥 #baseball #baseballboys #baseballlife #baseballszn #adversity #mentality #pitcher #mlb #marcusstroman
In his ninth big league season, Marcus is in the midst of a career year in Chicago, posting a 2.42 ERA that has been highlighted by 12 quality starts and one complete game shutout. With Jayden already making waves at the prep level, we could see another Stroman set to hit the big league diamond in the future.
