Top 10 all-time leading passers in Washington HS football
10. Jake Heaps, Skyline (2007-09)
Heaps was an elite passer in his three years under center for Skyline High School in Sammamish, throwing for 9,186 yards. His 114 passing touchdowns and 618 career completions are also top-10 marks all time in the state of Washington. Heaps became one of the top prospects in the country in the Class of 2010, and enrolled to play college football at BYU.
The quarterback struggled during his time with the Cougars, eventually transferring to Kansas, and later Miami (FL), playing sparingly at both schools. Heaps was signed as an undrafted free agent by the New York Jets in May of 2015, and also spent time with the Seattle Seahawks before jumping ship to the CFL where he joined the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and later the BC Lions. Heaps is best known today as the private quarterback coach for Denver Broncos signal-caller Russell Wilson, and gained recent attention when Sean Payton was hired by the Broncos back in February.
