CHICAGO (BVM) – The state of Illinois is known as a hotbed for elite high school football. A handful of college football and NFL stars, both former and current, hail from The Prairie State at all positions.
Quarterbacks often get most of the spotlight but the wide receiver position has a rich history in the state of Illinois. According to the IHSA, 17 pass catchers have amassed at least 3,000 career receiving yards throughout state history, the earliest being R.J. Luke (Waubonsie Valley) who caught 196 passes for 3,124 yards from 1995-97.
