Top 10 all-time leading receivers in Illinois HS football

CHICAGO (BVM) – The state of Illinois is known as a hotbed for elite high school football. A handful of college football and NFL stars, both former and current, hail from The Prairie State at all positions.

Quarterbacks often get most of the spotlight but the wide receiver position has a rich history in the state of Illinois. According to the IHSA, 17 pass catchers have amassed at least 3,000 career receiving yards throughout state history, the earliest being R.J. Luke (Waubonsie Valley) who caught 196 passes for 3,124 yards from 1995-97.

Current Minnesota Golden Gophers head football coach P.J. Fleck (Kaneland) is another member of the 3,000 club, racking up 3,121 receiving yards from 1996-98.

Both Luke and Fleck are just outside the top 10 of the all-time leading receivers in state history. With that in mind, here are Illinois’ top 10 leaders in career receiving yards.
