Top 10 highest-rated Colorado HS football players since 2000

AURORA, Colo. (BVM) – The state of Colorado has had no shortage of football talent over the years. Between elite high school stars, future college standouts and even some NFL players, there are many notable names to come out of the Centennial State.

Since 2000 when high school recruits began officially being rated, Colorado has only seen more and more of the nation’s top-ranked players. One of the most notable among those is NFL All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey, who had a legendary high school career at Valor Christian, but falls just outside of the top players on this list.

Here is a look at the top 10 highest-rated Colorado high school football players of all time – which 247Sports determined as players from the Class of 2000 to the Class of 2023.

The order of this list is determined by 247Sports’ Composite Rating – “a proprietary algorithm that compiles prospect ‘rankings’ and ‘ratings’ listed in the public domain by the major media recruiting services. It converts average industry ranks and ratings into a linear composite index capping at 1.0000.”

A player rating of 1.0000 indicates that the high school athlete was ranked as a No. 1 prospect across all services.
