MIAA Announces Newcomer Academic Awards

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced its final academic honors for the 2022-23 academic year. The awards include Academic Excellence, Scholar-Athlete and Academic Honor Roll for all true first-year student-athletes and first-year transfer student-athletes. A total of 1,046 first-year MIAA student-athletes (true freshmen or transfers) from all 14 MIAA institutions received academic honors for their efforts in the classroom. To be considered as a first-year or transfer student-athlete, the individual had not completed two semesters, excluding summer terms, at their current institution when they competed in their sport.
