6. Wes Danaher, Corpus Christi Calallen (1992-95)

Danaher has been passed up on this list a couple of times in recent years, but his career at Corpus Christi Calallen is one that will long be remembered. In his four years for the Wildcats, the halfback ran for an impressive 8,855 yards, which included a senior season in which he ran for 3,562 yards – the seventh-best single-season mark in Texas high school football history. 

Danaher also accounted for 117 total touchdowns during his high school career and had 20 games of 200 or more yards rushing. Following his time at Corpus Christi Calallen, Danaher took his talents to SMU. He would spend two seasons with the Mustangs before an injury ultimately ended his career on the gridiron.
