Connor Hellebuyck trade rumors swirling; Top 5 landing spots

WINNIPEG, Manitoba (BVM) — Connor Hellebuyck signed a six-year, $37 million contract with the Winnipeg Jets in 2018, but now with one year left on his deal, he’s sparked trade rumors after saying he wouldn’t be re-signing with the Jets once his contract ends in 2024, according to The Athletic

Hellebuyck, the 2020 Vezina Trophy winner, has been one of the more consistent players in the NHL for nearly a decade and has helped the Jets reach the playoffs five times. He showed he was still a top player during the 2022-23 season when he recorded 37 wins, a 2.49 goals-against average (GAA) and a .920 save percentage and helped Winnipeg to the Stanley Cup playoffs, where it fell to the Vegas Golden Knights. Now he could be on the move and look to help a new franchise capture a Stanley Cup.

Here are five possible destinations.
