Catch up on El Dorado varsity cheer team’s stellar season
PLACENTIA, Calif. — The El Dorado Varsity Competitive Cheer team is full of strong, spirited, and smart young women. The team is made up of former all-star cheerleaders, competitive gymnasts, and those who were brand new to the sport. Their dedication proved necessary as they rebuilt the program after coaching changes and pandemic restrictions.
Under the leadership of Coach Rilee Williams and Assistant Coach David Ribadeneira, the EDHS award-winning program ended their 2023 season strong as the CIF Southern Section D1AA Champions, CIF Southern Regional D1AA Runner up, and Semi-finalists at UCA National Championships in Orlando, Florida. The Varsity team showed their resilience as they competed through multiple injuries in both Traditional and Game Day throughout the season.
In addition to competing, 14 members of the team earned Scholar-Athlete recognition by earning a GPA of 3.5 or above in college prep, honors, and AP courses. These young ladies exemplify what it means to be a Golden Hawk both on the cheer mat and in the classroom! Congratulations on an amazing season!
