Scott Rolen and Fred McGriff to be Inducted into National Baseball Hall of Fame with Other Honorees

This Sunday, Scott Rolen and Fred McGriff will be inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. Rolen, who played six seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals, will be honored as one of the 18th third basemen inducted. McGriff, who had a successful career with multiple teams including the Toronto Blue Jays, Atlanta Braves, and Tampa Bay Rays, will have no team’s logo on his plaque. The induction ceremony will be televised live on MLB Network and MLB.com. The Hall of Fame class of 2023 also includes former pitcher Carl Erskine, Tigers beat writer John Lowe, and Cubs radio broadcaster Pat Hughes, who will be honored for their contributions to baseball. Fifty current Hall of Famers, including Jim Kaat, Tony Oliva, and David Ortiz, are expected to attend the ceremony. Looking ahead, Todd Helton, Billy Wagner, Andruw Jones, and Gary Sheffield are among the notable players on the Hall’s horizon for next year.
