Top 5 Heisman Trophy candidates entering the 2023 CFB season
2. Jayden Daniels
After transferring over from Arizona State heading into last season, the LSU quarterback didn’t quite start off on the preferred foot after the team’s Week 1 loss to Florida State. Following the effort, however, Daniels and the Tigers would go on to complete quite the opening season, passing for 2,913 yards and 17 touchdowns along with a whopping 885 yards and 11 touchdowns coming on the ground. As one of the better dual-threat quarterbacks in the nation, the Tigers quarterback has all the making of a future Heisman winner if LSU is able to squeak out a few victories over some of the SEC’s powerhouse programs.
