Top 10 Virginia high school football players in Class of 2024
1. Chris Cole, LB, Salem
The top spot belongs to Cole, a star for Salem who exploded onto the scene following a transition from defensive back to linebacker. He immediately impressed from his linebacker spot as the 6-foot-4, 210-pound Cole registered 76 tackles with 11 tackles for a loss during the campaign.
Cole is a near unanimous top prospect in the state by recruiting sites, earning Virginia’s No. 1 spot from ESPN, 247Sports and On3. Given this rating, Cole has of course drawn a lot of attention from programs with 26 offers to date including from Alabama, Notre Dame, Tennessee and USC. While he is still uncommitted, he made visits to Georgia, Miami, Penn State and Virginia Tech in June so he appears to be narrowing his list.
