De’Aaron Fox supports Steph Curry at American Century Championship
STATELINE, Nev. — Surprise, surprise. Sacramento Kings All-Star De’Aaron Fox appeared on the fourteenth hole during Saturday’s round of the American Century Championship. The first time all-star wore a black Under Armour Curry polo and cap while following Steph Curry’s group for the final five holes.
Fox, a sneaker free agent, has yet to sign with a brand during his NBA career. Could this be a sign of where Fox might lean to?
“I’m not sure if I’m supposed to talk about that. I was wearing the Curry’s most of the year. I enjoyed wearing them. I loved wearing them. Probably the best shoe I’ve ever played in. Sometimes I’d be walking in practice and I’d just trip because there’s just so much traction in the shoe.”
Celebrity golf fans, many of them Kings fans, were shocked and ecstatic to see Fox walking inside the ropes. Fox took pictures with fans while he was accompanied by his wife, Recee Caldwell, and their baby son, Reign.

“We’re enjoying our time and we’ve been watching. I can’t do that,” said Fox. “People were asking if I’d be out here next year, but I probably need more than a year.”
Other Kings players, Keegan Murray, Malik Monk, and Kevin Huerter have taken their golf game to social media. Fox is just starting to get in the mix.
“I just got my golf clubs two weeks ago. But we’ve been [playing] more tennis and pickleball. I’m more on that side. This is a little bit slower for me.”
Fox doesn’t reconcile with “slow.” He’s been known as one of the fastest guards in the league in recent years. The Kentucky product applied his speed to a career-high 25 points per game last season. A year where the Kings went to their first playoff showing since 2006.
“Having a lot of people experience a playoff game in Sacramento, I think it was phenomenal. And for me, walking out of the tunnel for game 1, everybody had their white shirts on. I think it was just surreal.”
Curry dropped 50 points in Game 7 of the Kings-Warriors first-round dandy to send Sacramento home. The Kings will look to “light the beam” again next season after a year of celebration for the city of Sacramento.
