Ranking each Big 12 football QB for the 2023 season
11. Emory Jones, Cincinnati
One of the many veteran quarterbacks taking the field this season across the Big 12 will be Jones, a 6-foot-3, 210-pound signal caller from Georgia. Coming out of high school, the four-star recruit committed to Florida and went on to play four seasons with the Gators, finally getting a chance as a full-time starter in 2021 when he threw for 2,734 yards and 19 touchdowns.
He transferred to Arizona State for his fifth season, but put up lackluster numbers last year to the tune of just 1,533 yards and seven touchdowns. Transferring to Cincinnati for his final season, Jones had a nice spring to earn the starting quarterback job for new head coach Scott Satterfield. He will bring experience, but consistency will be key to helping the Bearcats compete in the Big 12.
