Top 10 Louisiana HS football players in Class of 2024
1. Dominick McKinley, DL, Comeaux
A near-unanimous pick as the top prospect in the state by recruiting services, McKinley simply dominated as a junior for the Acadiana Rams last season. During the campaign, McKinley recorded 86 tackles, 18 tackles for a loss, 10 sacks, two interceptions and a touchdown. This earned the defensive lineman Class 5A all-state honorable mention honors.
McKinley is loved by scouts, being ranked as the No. 1 prospect by 247, ESPN and On3. The 6-foot-5, 290-pound defensive tackle holds a whopping 27 scholarship offers from schools such as Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Miami and Michigan among others. He’s also made official visits to Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas and Texas A&M, showing he may be narrowing his list soon. Given his skills and productivity, McKinley will be considered the crown jewel for whichever program can land him.
