Rio Hondo College wrestling head coach Mike Tellez has announced that Roadrunner All-American Emitt Mercado has signed with Menlo College to continue his academic and athletic career. Mercado, originally out of Mountain View High School in El Monte, closed out his sophomore season for Rio Hondo by taking fourth place at the 2022 State Championships to earn All-American honors. He finished fifth at the Southern California championships and was named All-SCWA Southwest Conference. Menlo College, recognized as an NAIA wrestling powerhouse, is located in the Atherton, California.
