Notre Dame football: Where top 10 recruits of the 2000s are now

No. 5 – Dayne Crist

Crist’s 247Sports Composite rating of 0.9886 places him as the fifth highest-rated Notre Dame recruit of the 2000s. The pro-style QB stood at 6-foot-5, 228 pounds, and graduated in the Class of 2008 from Notre Dame High School (California).

Crist was one of the most heavily recruited players in the country but he didn’t live up to the hype, especially due to injury. He played in 17 games for Notre Dame in three years (2,327 yards, 16 TDs, 9 INTs) before transferring to Kansas. The 2013 undrafted free agent signed with the Baltimore Ravens, but he was released just a few months later. So, he got a job working at Northwestern Mutual since his NFL career wasn’t panning out.

Today, the 33-year-old is a “Principal at Bernstein Private Wealth Management,” according to his LinkedIn. He is responsible for providing investment and wealth planning advice to individuals and families and their trusts, estates, foundations, endowments and pension plans.
