Notre Dame football: Where top 10 recruits of the 2000s are now

No. 3 – Sam Young

Young’s 247Sports Composite rating of 0.9964 puts him as the third highest-rated Notre Dame recruit of the 2000s. The OT stood at 6-foot-8, 305 pounds when he graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas (Florida) in the Class of 2006.

Out of Notre Dame, Young was selected in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL Draft. Although he wasn’t a regular starter, he went on to play just over a decade in the NFL (2020 final season).

The 36-year-old is living a fairly quiet life now that he’s retired. He doesn’t tweet much on his Twitter and he hasn’t publicly vocalized any next big steps. It’s safe to say that he’s living just fine off his $8 million in career earnings.
