5. Marcus Thaxton, Jr., Morgan Park

At the helm of Morgan Park’s offense for the first time as a starter, the Mustangs sophomore quarterback showed solid poise in a 10-2 campaign that featured a playoff run that was only ended by the eventual 5A state champions. Behind 1,762 yards and 22 touchdowns, the 6-foot quarterback showcased just where he can take things heading forward as he gears up for 2023. With a chance to build off its near state championship run, Thaxton could be at the front of another standout Morgan Park campaign.
