Top 10 Georgia defensive players for 2023 HS football season
7. Demello Jones, Sr., Swainsboro
At 6-1, 176 pounds, Jones is known as a fantastic all-around athlete. Not only is he a four-star safety recruit, but he was also a member of Swainsboro’s 4×100 relay team that took gold in Georgia’s 2A state track meet. In his sophomore basketball season, Jones averaged 9.5 points and 4.5 rebounds en route to a deep playoff run. Jones’ 44 tackles and two sacks on the gridiron helped the Tigers go 13-1 in 2022 and finish as the state champion runner-up in Georgia’s Class A Division 1 playoffs. Jones has committed to play for the Georgia Bulldogs following his final high school season.
