5. Cason Carswell, Jr., Mason

After being thrown into the fire during a postseason game in his freshman season in which he led Mason on a nine-play, 63-yard scoring drive to win the game, Carswell emerged into a record-setting all-state quarterback for the Bulldogs last year. In 2022, the 6-foot-3, 180-pound signal caller threw for 2,403 yards and 34 touchdowns, both of which were program records. He also added two rushing scores and completed 68% of his passes. While still uncommitted, Carswell figures to garner more interest with another season like last year as he looks to lead Mason to a state title after making it to the state semifinals the past two years.
