Top 10 Louisiana QBs for 2023 high school football season
1. Ju’Juan Johnson, Sr., Lafayette Christian Academy
Johnson stands alone atop this list because he not only excels at his primary position of cornerback, for which is ranked a top-10 player in the state, but as a quarterback as well. Johnson threw for 4,010 yards and 43 touchdowns last year while rushing for 1,284 yards and 17 more scores leading his Knights team to a 10-4 record and an appearance in the Division II Select state championship game. His performance on the year earned Johnson Class 4A first-team all-state honors as an athlete.
While Johnson may not be getting recruited for his play under center, Johnson is still considered a consensus four-star recruit and is ranked as high as the No. 6 player in the state by 247 Sports and Rivals. Given his success on both sides of the ball, Johnson held 18 offers from the likes of Alabama, Colorado, Georgia, Oklahoma and Texas but ultimately decided to stay close to home and committed to LSU.
