With a steady ramp up to the 2015 season, the 13-1 campaign under head coach Tom Herman became just the second time in program history that the Cougars had notched a 13-win year. With Greg Ward Jr. at quarterback, Houston’s explosive offense, and a standout defense, propelled them to signature victories over Memphis, Navy and Temple. The run would end on a high note in the Peach Bowl, as Herman’s squad took down No. 9 Florida State. The win marked Houston’s first-ever New Year’s Six bowl victory and served as a statement of its potential on the national stage.
