Park town team wins pitchers’ duel at state

Two of the best pitchers in the entire sphere of Minnesota amateur baseball were mound opponents Saturday, Aug. 19, in the opening round of the State Class B Tournament in Delano. St. Louis Park ace Chris Odegard was on the mound against Norwood-Young America’s hard-throwing lefty, Josh Lenz. The pitchers’ duel was every bit as good as advertised, with St. Louis Park pulling out a 2-1 victory. That win put Park in the final 16 of state and ended Norwood-Young America’s season.
