7. Charles Conerly (1942, 1946)
Conerly attended Ole Miss in 1942 but left to join the Marine Corps after World War II broke out but returned to Oxford in 1946, leading Mississippi to its first-ever SEC championship. He led the nation with 133 completed passes, recorded 17 total TDs and was named SEC Player of the Year after he led the Rebels to a 9-2 record.
He suited up for the New York Giants following his collegiate career and became the Marlboro Man after his career in the NFL.
