2023 William Smith Country Outlook Racing season begins with 3K Highlander Short Course Invitational The William Smith College cross country team will open its racing season Friday, Sept. 1 when the Herons lineup for Houghton’s Highlander Short Course Invitational. Racing is set to begin at 5:30 p.m. For his third season as head coach, Tyler Wilkie welcomes back 10 runners from last year’s squad, including five that competed in the NCAA regional.
