SAHUARITA, Ariz. — A Q&A with Odin Elliott who is a 9-year-old football player with the Sahuarita 49ers and is in the 3rd grade at Copper View Elementary.

Years in current sport: In first year

What are your personal goals within your sport/athletic dreams?
Odin Elliott: To be the fastest person on my team.
What is your biggest challenge in your sport, and what do you do to manage this challenge?
Elliott: Catching the ball when it’s so high up. I practice catching the ball when I can.

What was the best advice you were ever given?
Elliott: The best advice was to “stay low”.
What do you love about your sport?
Elliott: I love that we get to tackle people!
Do you have a pregame ritual you follow?
Elliott: I get pumped up by listening to music.
What do you like to do outside of your sport?
Elliott: I like to play games and go swimming.

What has being a member of a team taught you?
Elliott: To never give up!
What is the best piece of advice you received from a coach or mentor?
Elliott: To never give up on my dream!
Describe a mistake you made while competing and how you overcame it.
Elliott: I used to move when the quarterback said “hut”. After practice I now move when the ball moves.
Anything else you’d like to add?
Elliott: One day I would like to play in the NFL.
