Cross Country Squads Open The 2023 Campaign At Adelphi University Invitational

Old Bethpage, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport cross country teams opened their 2023 season on Friday afternoon by competing in the 6th Annual Adelphi University Invitational on Long Island at the Bethpage Polo Grounds. The UB women took 12th place on the day, and the Bridgeport men finished in 14th place. For the Purple Knights women’s squad, sophomore Emilia Russell (Kingston, U.K.) was the team’s top finisher, as she covered the 5K course in a time of 24:35.70 which place her in the 39th scoring place (49th overall).
