Women’s Cross Country: Macalester Kicks Off the 2023 Season at the Ole 5k Opener

NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Macalester College women’s cross-country team began the 2023 season at the Ole 5k Opener in Northfield, hosted by St. Olaf. The Scots finished fourth of six teams. Senior Maria Blaesing (Munster, Ind./Munster) led the Scots, finishing eighth in a time of 19:46.4. First year Ivy Coldren (Frederick, Md./Urbana) was the second Scot over the line, taking 10th (19:55.1). Fellow first year Destiny Osemwengie (Buford, Ga./Peachtree Ridge) finished 30th with a time of 21:14.7. Junior Sylvia Coyle (Wyoming, Ohio/Wyoming) ran a time of 21:22.6 to finish 37th.
