Red Leafs split a pair of matches against Hawaiian hosts
HONOLULU – The SFU Red Leafs split a pair of games on the second day of the Hawai’i Challenge, overpowering Hawaii Pacific 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-19) after losing earlier in the day to Chaminade University 3-1 (21-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-18). Sophie Lachapelle and Kalyn Hartmann had 10 kills apiece and 2022 GNAC Freshman of the Year Eva Person recorded 31 assists in the win over Hawaii Pacific. SFU simply dominated, hitting at a .315 clip compared to HPU’s .135 percent and having an advantage in kills, 49-to-25, aces, 9-to-4, assists, 46-to-23 and digs, 50-to-39.
