Meet Ansley Bennett, Gatorade South Carolina Softball Player of the Year
SUMMERVILLE, S.C. — Congratulations to Ansley Bennett, one of the elite softball players at Summerville High School, for being named the Gatorade South Carolina Softball Player of the Year! The Gatorade Player of the Year award recognizes athletes not just for their excellence on the field, but for their commitment in the classroom and impact in their community.
Ansley, the 5ft 6in right-handed pitcher and 5A Player of the Year led the Green Waves (32-1) to the 5A State Championship this past season. She compiled an amazing 18-1 on the mound this season with a 0.19 ERA. She also had 226 strikeouts averaging 2.04 K’s per inning. Ansley also maintained a 3.71 GRP all while volunteering with many local non-profit organizations.
Along with this special recognition, Gatorade made available a $1,000 donation to the charity of Ansley’s choice. She chose The Summerville Miracle League to receive the donation and made a presentation of the check at a recent game.
