Meier earns first ever SAA Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week award

By: Seth Stogsdill, Assistant Director of Athletics Communications ATLANTA – The first series of Southern Athletic Association weekly awards of 2023 were released earlier this afternoon, and Centre took home the honors in men’s cross country, with sophomore Mitchel Meier earning the SAA Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the first time in his career. Meier led the way for the Centre men at the BC/CC Jamboree at Berea on Sept. 1. The sophomore averaged a 5:12.7 mile in the men’s 6k race, posting a final time of 19:26.1 in the event.
