Ranking NL teams with best chance to reach the World Series
4. Milwaukee Brewers
Despite the Cubs putting together an incredible stretch, the Brewers have quietly done the same, and have been able to hold off Chicago in the NL Central to this point. Seven important games are in store for the Brew Crew against Miami, but the schedule is easy overall until the final regular-season series of the year with the Cubs. After an injury-marred first half of the season, the Brewers sat at just 46-41 following an early-July loss to Chicago. Since, they have gone a steady 31-21, and seem on track to make their fifth postseason appearance in the last six years.
The main issue with Milwaukee remains its hitting, although, consistency from William Contreras, a return to form from Christian Yelich, and a recent hot power bat from Willy Adames has made the lineup somewhat of a threat. What would ultimately carry the Brewers to October success, however, is a dominant pitching staff of Corbin Burnes, Brandon Woodruff and red-hot Freddy Peralta, as well as a solid bullpen led by closer Devin Williams.
