Eastern Illinois women’s soccer team celebrated Senior Day in a non-conference match against Chicago State. Despite a strong start with an early goal by Zenaya Barnes, the Panthers were defeated 2-1. The match was closely contested, with both teams fighting for the win. EIU finished the game with one player down after receiving a red card. Goalkeepers Lexi Prusow and Ella Kratochvil made impressive saves, but it wasn’t enough to secure a victory. Before the match, eight seniors were honored for their service. The Panthers now have 11 days to prepare for their conference opener against SIUE.
