Tom De Bruyn and Anna Guzman Victorious at Ironman 70.3 Santa Cruz; Nikki Hiltz Earns Fourth Place at New Balance 5th Avenue Mile; UC Santa Cruz and Soquel Showcase Strong Results in Soccer and Water Polo

San Francisco’s Tom De Bruyn and San Jose’s Anna Guzman emerged as the champions in the Ironman 70.3 Santa Cruz race. De Bruyn, who previously won his age group at the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii, finished with a time of 4:02:01. Guzman, a Santa Cruz Triathlon multiple champion, completed the race in 4:35:44. In another event, Nikki Hiltz, a 2023 USATF Outdoor National Championship champion, finished fourth at the New Balance 5th Avenue Mile. The Banana Slugs men’s soccer team and the UCSC women’s soccer team also had successful performances in their respective matches.
