Northwest Missouri State University sophomore Drew Atkins has collected his second MIAA men’s cross country athlete of the week award. Atkins (Kansas City, Mo./Staley HS) set a new school record in the 8,000-meters with his third-place finish in a time of 23:45.7 at the Greeno/Dirksen Invite Saturday in Lincoln, Neb. He led the Bearcat men to second-place team finish as well. His time of 23:45.7 is one of the fastest 8K times in the nation this season.
