Butts Named MIAA Cross Country Athlete Of The Week

Rogers State women’s cross country’s Gloria Butts has been named MIAA Women’s Cross Country Athlete Of The Week, the league announced on Tuesday. The is the first such honor of her career and the first for the program since joining the MIAA in 2019. A product of Claremore, Okla., Butts led RSU to a fifth place team finish at the annual Southern Stampede after finishing the women’s 5k race in second place, the highest finish of any MIAA runner, with a time of 17:45.70, just two seconds behind first place.
