Ranking the top 10 Green Bay Packers wide receivers of all time
7. Max McGee (1954-67)
McGee played the entirety of his 12-year NFL career in Green Bay, first suiting up for the Packers in 1954 after being drafted out of Tulane. McGee would go on to serve as a pilot for two years in the Air Force, but returned to the Packers in 1957. His football career would pick up just a few years later, leading the NFL in yards per reception in 1959, and putting up 700 or more receiving yards in each of the next four seasons which included a Pro Bowl campaign in 1961. Although he received less playing time, perhaps the most notable years of McGee’s Packers career were when he became a two-time Super Bowl champion in 1966 and 1967, going for 138 yards and two touchdowns in Super Bowl I despite reportedly nursing a hangover, and making a 35-yard catch in Super Bowl II that set up a score as well. McGee finished his Packers career with 345 receptions, 6,346 yards and 50 touchdowns.
