Mater Dei survives a scare vs. St. Frances Academy in Baltimore
BALTIMORE, MARYLAND – Playing its first home game of the year, after traveling more than 7,300 miles for its first five contests, St. Frances Academy (Maryland) put quite a scare into the nation’s top-ranked team, Friday night at Johns Hopkins University’s Homewood Field, before bowing to Mater Dei (California), 20-7. Both defenses were outstanding and it was Mater Dei’s defensive group which produced the game-winning points.
