Jamar Graham is a 6-foot-8 QB taking the internet by storm
TUCKER, Ga. (BVM) – Around football scouting circles, quarterbacks with good height are considered more desirable than their shorter counterparts thanks to their ability to see their receivers down field while looking over the offensive line. While there have been some exceptions to this rule, offensive football coaches have fancied taller signal callers for decades. If this idea remains true, scouts will be all over themselves to land Tucker senior quarterback Jamar Graham.
Not only is Graham a tall signal caller, but he is perhaps the tallest in the entire country regardless of level as the 2024 prospect towers over opponents at 6-foot-8. This would tie the NFL record for the tallest quarterback in league history with fellow 6-foot-8 signal caller Dan McGwire who played five seasons in the early 90s.

Given Graham’s impressive size, it was only a matter of time before he went viral. On Tuesday, Graham finally saw his name circulate on social media as a video of a touchdown run was shared by numerous football pages including Maxpreps, SportsCenter Next and Rivals, among others.

But Graham is more than just a big-bodied quarterback as he has proven he can play and win at a high level. As a sophomore in 2021, Graham was the starting quarterback for powerhouse Cedar Grove where he threw for 1,732 yards, 17 touchdowns and just four interceptions on his way to Atlanta Journal Constitution All-Metro honors. That year he also led his 12-3 Saints to a Class 3A state championship with a 352-yard, five-touchdown performance.

Graham transferred to Tucker prior to his junior year and has found success. Last season, Graham threw for 834 yards, eight scores and four interceptions over 10 games though the Tigers finished with a losing 4-7 record. This year, Graham has already brought his game up another level as he has thrown for 775 yards, five touchdowns and four interceptions while rushing for three more scores in just five games.

With his success and size, Graham has received plenty of attention from scouts. Graham is currently ranked as a three-star recruit by On3 and has received three Division I offers from Alcorn State, Florida Atlantic and UAB.

While Graham may not end up being a quarterback at the next level, with his size and athletic ability, he certainly has showcased enough skills to draw attention from more teams. Given his viral moment, perhaps coaches and scouts are already making their way to Tucker to see the 6-foot-8 phenom. If he is able to continue to showcase his ability over the back half of the season, Graham should expect more offers to come his way in the near future.
