DANVILLE, Va. – The Sweet Briar College soccer team (3-5-0) fell to the Averett University Cougars (4-3-2, 1-0-0 ODAC) today by a score of 7-1. The Cougars dominated the first half of play, scoring six of their seven goals before 45 minutes were up. First-year Alexis Diaz (Connelly Springs, N.C.) recorded the first shot in the game at the 2:57 mark with a shot also being taken by senior Sophie Vargesko (Plum, Pa.) before half time came around.
