Women’s Tennis: Cortland Edges Previously Unbeaten Alfred for Tom Spanbauer’s 100th Career Dual Victory

CORTLAND, N.Y. –Tom Spanbauer earned the 100th dual-match victory of his Cortland women’s tennis head coaching tenure as the Red Dragons nipped previously unbeaten Alfred University, 5-4, at the Cortland Varsity Tennis Courts. Cortland improved to 5-3 with the win, pushing Spanbauer’s career record with the Red Dragons to 100-96. That record includes fall matches only from 2006-19, the 2021 spring season, and fall/spring combined matches since the fall of 2021. Alfred (9-1) took a 2-1 lead after doubles play.
