7. Sam Hartman, Notre Dame

The Notre Dame program was quite optimistic about its chances in 2023 after landing the transfer quarterback this past offseason. Through the opening four games of the year in South Bend, Ind., the Irish have shown why Hartman has played the position to a level the school hasn’t seen in quite some time and while their last-second loss to Ohio State will certainly put a damper on some of its later season hopes, Hartman has proved that he can help elevate the team. The star quarterback also has some time to get the Irish back in the playoff race with a win over a team like USC in just a few short weeks.
