Ranking the top 10 Minnesota Vikings QBs of all time
3. Randall Cunningham (1997-1999)
After being out of football in 1996, Cunningham joined the Vikings in 1997 and in 1998, he had the best single-season performance in Vikings history by a quarterback. Throwing to Cris Carter, a rookie Randy Moss and Jake Reid, Cunningham led Minnesota to a 15-1 regular season behind 3,704 passing yards and 34 touchdown passes. He also became just the second Vikings QB to earn first-team All-Pro honors.
Kwesi Adofo-Mensah grew up watching Randall Cunningham.
At the time, as a Black quarterback, Cunningham was in a place people didn't think he should have been.
It's something Adofo-Mensah has admired and related to in his career.
