Elyas Ayyoub Finishes Third of 400 Competitors at Paul Short Brown Meet

By: Adam Rubin BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Elyas Ayyoub again flirted with a title, this time at the Paul Short Invitational Brown 8K race on Saturday. Ayyoub finished third among the 400 competitors with a time of 24:59.2. Columbia’s Jacob Ireland (24:36.8) won the race, while Central Connecticut State’s Samuel Whittaker (24:42.9) finished second. Ayyoub had defeated Whittaker at the LIU-hosted Shark Invitational by nearly eight seconds on Sept. 9.
